Leena Releases Flowers, the Fourth SINGLE OFF The Melancholy Mind Project.

Flowers is the fourth release off of Leena Regan’s The Melancholy Mind Project and highlights the apathy felt towards ever finding love.

The song Flowers poured out of me as a response to a text message I received from an extremely casual fling, passively expressing that he was maybe starting to catch feelings after nearly a year of hanging out once every couple of months. One precise and dramatic eye roll later, I slung myself over to my keyboard, started playing this melancholy little chord progression, and just sang whatever words and melody flowed out, which is exactly what you hear on the final track. I then put it in my back pocket, and the next time I passed through Chicago, I brought it to my friend and long-time collaborator Matt Dougherty to record and start producing out. The dude might just have some telepathic tendencies, ‘coz he breathed the perfect kind of life into the song and really helped to bring it to the place I pictured it in my mind when it was just me and the keyboard.

Flowers is now streaming on all major music platforms. You can listen and save on Spotify here.
